Throughout the entire engagement, we maintain ongoing communication with our clients to ensure their satisfaction at every step of the OddJob process. Our goal is to provide our clients with the highest level of service possible, constantly seeking ways to improve and refine our approach through the OddJob process. ODDJOB PROCESS
1. Initial Inquiry and Qualifying your request
Whether you connect by email, online form, or call, once your initial inquiry is received, our goal at OddJob is to understand your project, ensure we are able to complete your requests, service your location, and can meet your timeline OddJob process. If the request is straightforward, our sales team will send a free online estimate OddJob process. However, if we require an on-site consultation to collect detail, we will be in contact with you to set up an on-site consultation with one of our project estimators OddJob process. 2. Consultation Visit
Next, your project estimator will visit your location to learn more about your project request and gather details. In this initial consultation, we want to see firsthand what the current area to be work on looks like, take measurements, and get a full understanding of your goals for the project. During this meeting we will also discuss the project timeline and anything that might influence the project, in addition to answering any questions you have.
3. Handyman Projects and Estimates
Once you’re on site consultation is complete an estimator will work on your request and create a unique custom estimate for your project. Custom estimates are sent within 48 to 72 hours in most cases, sometimes it may take may take longer due to having to price unique materials requests or price unique requests. Your estimate should include all of the items that you laid out in detail with your estimator it will include the labor and material costs for each request. We encourage you to review this estimate to ensure it’s accuracy and understand what is included or excluded in the services provided to you. ODDJOB.CA prides itself on presenting accurate estimates, we even have a custom built software to help however please note that we provide estimates not quotes due to the highly variable nature of the handyman requests.
4. Ready to Move Forward and Schedule Your Project
Once you are ready to move forward with ODDJOB.CA for your project, we require a deposit to hold your place on our project schedule. All of our projects are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. We will contact you via email, call and text to suggest and finalize a service date for your project. We promise to keep your original service date, however on occasion we may need to reschedule a service appointment if this is the case we will keep you posted and rescheduled at your convenience as soon as possible.
5. Prior To Your Project Start Date
Approximately 2 weeks prior to start we will reach out to you to give you a heads up and remind you of your upcoming project Once we begin your project, we won’t leave until the work is completed. Before we arrive, please remove any personal or breakable items from the space that will be involved in the project, such as patio furniture, BBQ’s, photos, computers, tooth brushes, etc. 1 day prior to start, you will receive a reminder text of your upcoming visit. Your text will include information such as what your project should entail who will be visiting as well as a button to confirm the appointment You will also receive an email confirming the same information and having additional instructions on how to be prepared for our visit, such as clear paths if they are snowy and ensure that if we are caulking your tub or shower that the area has not been used for 24 hours before
6. Project Day (s)
The first step in our process after our technician has arrived is for them to complete an initial walkthrough with you to not only familiarize themselves with all of the projects but also to ensure the accuracy of the job order and to see if there are any additional items to be added or modified or existing items to be removed from the original list. This takes about 2 – 10 minutes based on the size of the job to be completed.
Technicians will communicate with you throughout the process if there are any issues adjustments or modifications that need to be made to the plan or pricing of the project due to unforeseen circumstances during the regular completion of a project. Our team will tidy up as they go along however their main goal is to stay focused on quality outcomes and getting the job finished while they’re working and they will fully clean up their workspace at the end of their visit.
7. Project Completion and Final Walk-Through
We’ve come and conquered! Your frustration is no more! Once your technician is complete their tasks they will repeat the process from arrival and do a completion walkthrough with you showing you all of the things have be finished, detailing any after-care instructions you may require and letting you know about any restrictions or limitations on any of the work completed.
8. Sign Off and Payments
We require that an individual with signing authority, ideally the individual who approved the estimate was present during the onsite consultation. The purpose to confirm all projects completed to your satisfaction and sign off on the job. If your project is straightforward our technicians will take payment on site directly with you at the end of your job, if your project is more involved you will receive an invoice the following business day. All invoice are due on receipt of invoice, we do allow a 5 day grace period before automatically billing any remaining balance to the card on file in our system.
9. After Care
Our goal as a company is to collect families and as such once we’ve complete a project for you we consider you family. Feel free to ask as any questions about the project that was completed we’re always there to be helpful. Feel free to ask us about any additional work you may have in your home even though we may not be able to help you we can point you in the right direction with one of our trusted partner service providers. And because were family now, and as a thank you, you will receive our super secret, super awesome gift as a thank you. Shortly after our final visit.
