Common Questions

Everything you need to know before booking a handyman in Toronto & GTA

These are the questions we get asked most often about home repairs, commercial upkeep, pricing, and scheduling. Clean answers, straight to the point.

I just have a small job. Will OddJob still come?

Absolutely. No job is too small or too odd. Whether it is a sticking door, a hard-to-reach lightbulb replacement, or a punch list you have been putting off, our minimum is one hour. Put us to work.

Do you do on-site consultations before quoting in Toronto & GTA?

For larger or more involved projects, yes. We can send a Project Estimator to walk through the job with you, answer your questions, and provide an accurate scope. The assessment fee is $75-$125 — based on location -, which is credited back on approved projects over $750.

Do you offer free estimates across Toronto & GTA?

Always. Online estimates are free, fast, and carry no obligation. Share your photos and job details to get yours.

What warranty and guarantee do you provide for handyman work?

We back every job with a 2‑year guarantee on installations and a 90-day guarantee on repairs. If something is not right after we leave, we return and fix it.

Do you offer evening and weekend appointments?

Yes. We accept appointments outside regular hours (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday). Additional charges apply for after-hours and weekend bookings.

Do I need to supply materials for my handyman project?

We bring construction-grade materials and standard consumables for most jobs. For finishing items such as specific light fixtures, particular paint colors, or custom hardware styles, we recommend you supply those so you get the exact aesthetic you want. If you prefer we source them, simply tell us what you are looking for.

Is OddJob fully licensed and insured in Ontario?

Yes. We carry all provincial, federal, and municipal licenses, full WSIB coverage, and $10 million in general liability insurance. The paperwork is in order so you never have to worry.

Do your technicians bring their own tools and equipment?

Our team arrives in fully stocked mobile workshops ready for a wide range of repairs, installations, and maintenance tasks. No sourcing delays, no extra trips.

How are your handyman rates calculated?

Every job is scoped and priced based on what it actually involves, the type of repair, the trade level required, and the complexity on site. The best way to get an accurate number is to request a free estimate online.

Share your photos and job details and we will come back to you with a clear, upfront quote before any work begins.

How many technicians will come to my property?

Small-to-medium jobs usually require one technician. Larger or multi-trade projects may call for an additional team member. Your estimate will clearly specify team staffing.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Google Pay, Apple Pay, and e‑Transfer. Our secure online portal is built into your client hub so you can pay your invoice in one click.

Are OddJob technicians experienced and background-checked?

We hire experienced specialists and train them further through the OddJob Academy, our internal program for continuous skill development and safety standards. Our technicians are lifetime learners who take pride in their craft.
